New Vineyard and Winery - St Ann's Hill Farm, Chertsey
(November 2023) Plans have been approved by Runnymead Borough Council for our client's new vineyard and winemaking venture at their beautiful estate set within Green Belt land on the outskirts of Chertsey, Surrey.
After working closely with our clients to understand their unique requirements and establishing the precedent for wine production, or 'viticulture', under Section 336 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990, we first prepared a detailed site appraisal followed by a feasibility study to explore the potential business opportunities.
Having identified a robust approach, which we carefully presented to our clients, we proceeded to set out the planning case to the council, leading to swift acceptance of the plans. Work on-site can now proceed at pace to develop the winery - and we look forward to sampling the first few bottles of their English wine too!

- Site appraisal, environmental searches, Green Belt assessment and provision of a detailed written summary of findings to our client, with recommended 'next steps' and costings.
- Planning submission - including justification for the proposed works in accordance with regulations.
