We're delighted to have provided professional planning consultancy support for local architect LK2's planning application, which has now been granted, for the change of use from office space to community healthcare clinic (minor treatment) at Studio One Lincoln, delivering services for the NHS.
Part of a new benchmark scheme, the clinic will deliver community-based day patient treatments away from hospital sites, complementing the existing healthcare offering already available in the village, and will be the first project of its kind in this part of Lincolnshire.
The change of use will see one of the ground floor offices converted to a Level 3 Sterile Environment, with 2 treatment rooms, to perform minor procedures. The community facility will provide NHS treatments under contract led by a resident consultant.
Working alongside lead architects LK2, Fytche-Taylor Planning were brought on board to provide a detailed planning statement that set out the justification, planning policy compliance and suitability of the new benchmark facility.
This involved developing a detailed understanding of the local needs and opportunities for the innovative new healthcare provision, using the latest NHS data and included an analysis of patient numbers and the added benefits of reducing pressure on hospital admissions through the provision of increased community-based care.
The new clinic will be based in Studio One, located on the Deepdale Lane Business Park on the outskirts of Nettleham, close to the A46 and the northern edge of the City of Lincoln.
