The situation in North Lincolnshire reflects the wide-reaching changes to the planning system recently announced by the new Government.  Since then, our team have been busy meeting with clients, developers and landowners alike to discuss how to effectively promote their sites and to ensure they are ready to expedite a planning application when the time comes.

Perhaps most significant amongst the proposed changes are new mandatory housing targets and NPPF revisions that will provide better support for housebuilding in all areas, including potential amendments to Green Belt controls.

What is the timescale?  Following consultation over the autumn, the Government have recently advised that they intend to introduce the changes from late January 2025.  This might change, so check back for regular updates.
